Registering Your Child for a CCSD School

Out of County Students: Please be advised that any student residing outside Charleston County who is new to Charleston County School District may be required to pay tuition per Board of Trustees' policy JFAB - Nonresident Students. If you have any questions about out of county tuition, please contact the Office of General Counsel at 843-937-6515.


New Students


To register your child for a CCSD school:
  1. Gather the following documents required for registration. 
    1. Child's Legal Birth Certificate
    2. SC Certificate of Immunization
    3. Notarized Affidavit of Residency
      1. English Only Form
      2. English and Spanish combined form
    4. Residency Verification Document Requirements

  2. Register your child online. 
    1. The new online registration process is now open! This process will be utilized by: 
      1. Students new to CCSD;
      2. Students with an approved transfer request; 
      3. Students who have accepted a seat at a Choice school.

Returning Students


  • If your child has moved over the summer and will now attend a different CCSD school, you will need to register for that school. You will need your child’s Student ID number to complete this process. If you don’t remember the Student ID number, contact your former CCSD school, find this information in your report cards, or login to your parent portal.   • If your child is returning to his or her previous CCSD school, you will need to update your child’s information online using the Student Information Update process. You will need your child’s Student ID number to complete this process. If you don’t remember the Student ID number, contact your CCSD school, find this information in your report cards, or login to your parent portal.   • If your child is transitioning to the next level (e.g., from elementary to middle, from middle to high), you will need to update your child’s information online using the Student Information Update process. You will need your child’s Student ID number to complete this process.
