CCSD Announces New Hires and Appointments in the New Year

                                   

Charleston, SC — Charleston County School District (CCSD) is proud to welcome the following individuals to their new positions within the District:

Jeremy Carrick, Interim Principal – Stall High School

Carrick has served as the Assistant Principal at Stall High since 2011. In his previous position, he oversaw student registration, master scheduling, statewide testing, iPads, and the Sophomore Academy. He brings with him a wealth of experience having also been a high school science teacher for eight years where he designed and implemented curriculum as chairperson for his school’s Curriculum and Instruction Focus Team in the areas of environmental science and chemistry. Carrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Education Science and a Master’s in Educational Leadership.

Virginia Sayer, Interim Assistant Principal – Stall High School

Sayer has previously served as an Interim Assistant Administrator at Stall. Sayer’s background includes working as a science teacher at Stafford High, West Charlotte High, Stall, and as a Personalized Learning Coach in CCSD’s Department of Personalized Learning over the past eight years. Sayer has demonstrated experience in action and problem-based learning, curriculum alignment, student-centered learning, one-to-one instruction, and iPad integration in the classroom. Sayer holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Master’s in Administration Supervision.

Steven Legette, Assistant Administrator – Wando High School

Legette has served as a Government, Ecnoomics, and Psychology teacher at Wando for the past 11 years. During his time at Wando, Legette has developed credit recovery curriculum for government, lead the Extra Help Committee, served as a member of the Leadership Team and Athletic Leadership Team, served as Varsity Softball Head Coach and B-Team Football Head Coach, lead psychology and economics curriculum teams, and participated in a number of state education trainings. In his new post, Legette’s responsibilities will include assisting with the overall planning, development, and implementation of integrated instruction curriculum at Wando; competency-based instructional materials in the classroom; the teacher evaluation process; and community and public relations. Legette holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and a Master’s in Secondary Administration.

James Noonan, Assistant Administrator – Wando High School

Noonan has served as a Mathematics teacher, Head Football Coach, and Assistant Athletic Director at Wando prior to taking his new position. Prior to joining Wando in 2008, Noonan held similar positions at both Wilson Hall and Spring Valley High in Sumter and Columbia, SC, respectively. During his time as a teacher and coach, Noonan has demonstrated strength in management, organization and leadership skills, and work ethic and ambition, as seen through his achievement of much regional and state recognition throughout his high school coaching career.  Noonan holds a Bachelor of Science in Education Mathematics and a Master’s in Educational Leadership.
