CCSD "Lunch Lady Night" at the Charleston RiverDogs

CCSD Food Service employees meet on May 26, 2009 for Over 450 employees work to prepare and serve nearly 40,000 meals each day in Charleston County public schools!

In recognition of these employees' on-going hard work and commitment to equipping students and staff members with nutritious food, the Office of Food Service hosted Lunch Lady Night during the Charleston RiverDogs game on the evening of Tuesday, May 26. This celebration was a chance for Food Service managers and their staff members to relax and enjoy the company of their colleagues while being publicly appreciated for their service to CCSD students.

CCSD Food Service employees meet on May 26, 2009 for Employees enjoyed traditional baseball food of hotdogs and hamburgers, and all of the costs for the evening were covered by Food Service vendors. The fun included the Food Service employees enjoying a sing-along with the crowd as the RiverDogs played a video of Adam Sandler's song "Lunch Lady Land" on their gigantic video screen.  During the game, employees participated in contests such as "Hot Dog Toss," "Sloppy Joe Making," and "Ice Breaker" (which involved breaking a block of ice by throwing baseballs to get the $25 Outback Steakhouse gift card embedded in the ice!) CCSD Food Service employees meet on May 26, 2009 for Members of the crowd loved these festivities! Following the "Sloppy Joe Making" competition, people in the crowd were scrambling for one of the sloppy joes spontaneously and graciously served by CCSD lunch ladies!

The CCSD employees in attendance are still laughing and giggling over the memories of the evening.
