CCSD’s Students & Employees Reveal Their Inner Super Heroes!
Recognizing the indisputable connection between students' academic performance and their physical well-being, Charleston County School District (CCSD) maintains strategic partnerships emphasizing the importance of physical fitness, mental wellness, and good nutrition.
Countless examples of this type of community collaboration exist in CCSD schools across the county. For example, Yoga Benefits Kids is a local non-profit organization that actively works to enhance children's physical, mental, and emotional health through the inclusion of movement and stress management techniques. This partner will offer programs at four CCSD schools (Charleston Development Academy, Memminger Elementary, North Charleston Elementary, and Sanders-Clyde Elementary/Middle) during the 2011-2012 academic year.
On Saturday, September 17, the organization held a Super Hero 5K event. Students and faculty members from across Charleston County donned their capes and workout clothes in order to push their own limits and realize their own extraordinary athletic abilities!
