Lowcountry Orphan Relief Creates“Just In Case Program” for CCSD Schools
"Just-In-Case" is a program of the Lowcountry Orphan Relief that helps create emergency clothing closets as school resources for Charleston County School District (CCSD) students. "Just in Case" equips children in need with uniforms, toiletries or other necessities. It also allows students who require an unexpected change of clothes during school hours to confidentially obtain the items they need to quickly return to class for instruction. It also provides a service opportunity in which older children collect or donate some of the needed supplies.
Eleven Title I CCSD elementary and middle schools have received a Just-In-Case closet. The closets include underwear, socks, uniforms, and toiletries. Guidance counselors and nurses have access to the supplies so that they can discreetly equip the children with the needed items. Each school receives their customized inventory at no cost.
