Riverfront Race Update: Volunteers Needed
Have you been training for one of the Riverfront Race Festival events on January 15, 2011? This dynamic festival is attracting athletes from all over the world, and the proceeds will benefit fine arts programs in Charleston County public schools.
And because it includes a great variety of races ranging from a 5K and a bike race all the way up to the first-ever Charleston Marathon, the festival offers something for athletes of all fitness levels and interests.
However, if running and biking are not your cup of tea, please consider volunteering your time and expertise to this amazing event. An army of volunteers is needed to support an event of this size, and there are hundreds of service positions available- both before and on the day of the event.
The festival is a perfect community service opportunity for individuals and groups, and volunteer positions exist for any age, skill-level and interest. Current race needs include assisting with pre-race registration, supporting the expo, serving as course marshals, working at water stations, setting or cleaning up, and much more!
By serving as a volunteer, you will have the experience of a lifetime. And because the race will support arts education, you will also be helping to change the lives of Charleston County students!
