Charleston Named As One of the Country’s Top Ten Tennis Towns
Charleston County School District (CCSD) consistently strives to promote the countless benefits of exercise and lifelong sports. In these efforts, the district works closely with partners—including the Cities of Charleston and North Charleston, the United States Tennis Association (USTA), the Family Circle Tennis Center and the other members of the Charleston Tennis Initiative—to expand access to tennis across the district and in our community.
The Lowcountry now has the opportunity to lead the country in tennis. The USTA has recently announced that Charleston is one of ten top towns in America for the sport. With your help, it can become #1! The winning city will earn the title and a grant of $100,000 to help to provide increased access to the game.
If you are among the thousands of Lowcountry residents who love to play, watch, teach, cheer on, or learn tennis—or you know someone who does—please cast your vote for our dynamic Charleston! Your vote is vital, and casting it is easy and fast. Voting begins at 12:01 p.m. (noon) on Friday, July 16 at www. besttennistown.com and continues until Monday, July 26.
The Best Tennis Town in America will be announced at the US Open in August. Help make Charleston the #1 Tennis Town in America!
