  • Heidi Bolin, James Island Middle: for remaining focused and calm when things happen that disrupt our normal routine. Your ability to keep a good attitude and good cheer are appreciated!

Everything is on time, her communications are clear, and she shows great rapport with her students and parents.
  • Pamela Heine, Cario Middle: [She] is an awesome teacher. She pulls the best out of her strings students and gets them excited about making music. She put a lot of work and time into the Mount Pleasant District Orchestra concert. The concert was a huge success and it couldn't have been done without her. I want to thank her for all her advice and encouragement to me as a new teacher.
  • Dayna Hohlfeldt, St. Andrews Middle: She is extremely dedicated to her students. She often stays late or comes in early just to make sure every one of their needs is met. She genuinely cares for her students and it is very evident in the way she teaches.

  • Deanna Maguire, Cario Middle: Victory is in the classroom, but it can also be outside of it. In addition to providing motivating and extremely topical lessons to her health students, [she] has worked tirelessly to ensure that Cario implements a meaningful PBIS plan for the coming year. On top of that, she mentors a rookie teacher.
  • Chanda Martin, Drayton Hall Elementary School: As a parent and an educator, I believe she is a superior teacher. Her concern for her students' welfare and success are obvious inside and outside the classroom. She always seems to have boundless energy and drive to inspire her students. My child always had a great time "learning with Ms. Martin", and she continues to build on her love of writing and reading books. She is a gem of a teacher!
  • Linda Mason, James Island Middle: for all you have done for the numerous students you have taught over the years. Sharing in our team, we have come to count on you and we will surely miss the spot you've filled in our school family. Your dedication is greatly appreciated!
  • Ellen Mintz, Mitchell Elementary: [She is] an exceptional and passionate science educator and advocate for all children, [ and her] dedication is matched by her creativity and understanding of how all children learn.

  • Carla Moore, Montessori Community School of Charleston: for her dedication and excellent guidance in the classroom. [My child] has grown socially, academically, emotionally with Ms. Carla as his classroom guide. Ms. Carla has blended the SC State Standards with Montessori Philosophy to create a classroom that is welcoming, challenging and most of all an environment that is optimum for learning. Thank you so much, Ms. Carla.
  • Kathryn Owensby, School of the Arts: I feel Ms. Owensby goes above and beyond by offering review sessions after school for every major Algebra test. My child is in her Algebra class, and I think it is very generous of her to give her time in that way to her students. She deserves a big "Thank You!!"
  • Barbara Patrick, W. B. Goodwin Elementary: for giving my children the start to a great education and a desire for learning. Mrs. Patrick is a wonderful teacher who teaches educational lessons along with lessons on manners and expected behaviors. She gives far and beyond the normal teaching day not only to her students but to the staff as well. She is retiring this year and will be greatly missed.
  • Beth Patterson, James Island Middle: for taking care of all of the scheduling, easy to read charts and tables, rosters and detailed items that keep all of us together and organized. We really appreciate you and your hard work!
  • Summer Pettigrew, Memminger School of Global Studies: [She] is a great co-worker. Not only is she super helpful with anything you need, but she is a great friend. She will go above and beyond for her students, as well as, her teammates.
  • Sara Pilarz, Alice Birney Middle: [She] is passionate about teaching and it shows in the way she treats each of her students. She genuinely cares for each of them. Her dedication and compassion is inspiring and contagious to all around her!
  • Angie Pitts, James Island Middle: for all you do for the teachers to assist them in their jobs as well as your dedication to your students. Your pleasant attitude is welcome after a long day!
  • Scott Rush, Wando High: [He] has been a great mentor to me as a new teacher. He has always been there to answer questions and give me advice. I'd like to thank him for all his support.
  • Danielle Sarver, James Island Middle: for working so hard to insure that every student had some gain in reading scores. We appreciate your dedication and flexibility!
  • Elizabeth Singleton, Ladson Elementary: [She] is the kind of teacher you want your own kids to have. She is cheerful and exciting and someone that I have really appreciated having next door to me. Her teaching ability is something that she be commended. Not many teachers work as hard as she does. No matter what she has going on, she always puts her students first.
  • DiAnna Spangler, Wando High: for taking on the daunting task of Director of Student Council this year has done the job like a champ. Not only has she maintained the high standards, she has re-created an exemplary program with amazing student leaders. In addition, she is an excellent English teacher and has served as a cheerleading sponsor- always with professionalism and with a smile.
  • Chelsea Speights, Memminger School of Global Studies: She is a wonderful teammate who is always willing to help in whatever way she can. She helps keep me smiling and is a pleasure to work with. I feel truly lucky! Thank you for helping to make my job even more special!
  • Gary Stroupe, James Island Middle: for working so hard with the students to create enjoyable moments and music. We appreciate your flexibility and dedication.
  • Betsy Wilson, Wando High: [She} has been an integral part of my success this year as a first year teacher. She has been a great resource to me and my program. I could not have done it without her.
  • Faculty of Drayton Hall Elementary: The fine faculty that we have at this excellent school are absolutely THE BEST, and I appreciate and applaud each and every one of them.
  • All Teachers & Assistants at Liberty Hill: The teachers and assistants do a great job every day.
