"It's Cool To Be In School" Event 8/15/09 & First Day Festival 8/16/09

Charleston County School District (CCSD) schools will once again open for students on Tuesday, August 18. Two events held the preceding weekend will help parents and children for the start of an exciting new school year.

It's Cool To Be in School event on Saturday, August 15"It's Cool To Be In School" Event on Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The City of North Charleston will be hosting its first "It's Cool To Be In School" event on Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum's Exhibit Hall. North Charleston families are invited to join the festivities, which will include hands-on activities, free school supplies, important information for parents, and entertainment.

First Day Festival on Sunday, August 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. First Day Festival on Sunday, August 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The 7th Annual First Day Festival, sponsored by the City of Charleston, will be held for Charleston County students and families on Sunday, August 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Liberty Square at the South Carolina Aquarium and the Charleston Maritime Center. Exhibitors, volunteers, food court vendors, mascots, entertainers, and many others will help supply families with information and fun!
