Arts Come Alive: The Charleston County All-Star Rock Orchestra 2010
On Friday, March 19, approximately 300 CCSD students rocked the North Charleston Performing Arts Center with the Mark Wood Experience. The performance featured a band comprised of world-famous electric violinist Mark Wood and other members of the Trans-Siberian orchestra.
During four days of rehearsals, these celebrated musicians trained and prepared the students to perform this unique concert. School of the Arts alumnus Daniel Davis also shared his talent with the captivated audience. Davis, a hip-hop violinist, has won Amateur Night at the Apollo and has played for President Obama.
Over 1500 spectators filled the North Charleston Performing Arts Center for this enriching event, and the night will have a lasting impact on the student performers. View video footage of this amazing performance!
