CCSD Community,

The track of Hurricane Florence is constantly changing. Recent projections have the eye of the storm making landfall near the Wilmington, NC area.

Charleston County is likely to experience hurricane-strength winds, storm surges, and possibly massive flooding. These conditions may continue through the weekend and possibly into next week.

The timetable for reopening our schools will be dependent on the storm's path, as well as the damage it inflicts on our facilities. Governor McMaster's executive order requires our schools to be closed until further notice.

Hopefully, everyone has executed their evacuation plan and is prepared for the uncertain impact resulting from the storm.

Follow our Facebook, Twitter, and website for any further updates.

Monday, September 10

CCSD schools will be closed tomorrow, September 11 in anticipation of the potential impacts caused by Hurricane Florence. This decision is in accordance with Governor Henry McMaster’s executive order that calls for the closure of all government and school district facilities in Charleston Country.

The timeline for reopening will be determined by the status of evacuation orders, the path of the storm and degree of impact to our facilities.

State law requires students to make up at least three instructional days. Those makeup dates are already on the academic calendar. They are November 19, November 20 and February 18.
